The Kansas City Metro Men’s Chorus (KCMMC) was founded in the fall of 2001. After a short period of recruitment, a choir of 80 men sang their first concert in February of 2002 to an audience of over 500. An offering of over $2,500.00 was given to three area charities in fulfillment of the choir’s mission to praise God through singing while giving the proceeds of an offering to local charities in the metropolitan area. From the very beginning, the mission of the choir was to praise God through their music and through service to those in need. The men of the chorus have generously donated their time and monies in supporting this mission. That has allowed the KCMMC to give 100% of the Love offerings to those in need. In December 2006, the concert with the Raytown Community Choir raised over $6,400.00 for just that one performance. Over the past eight years, we are proud of generating over $125,000, all of which has been returned to various organizations in the Metro area. The choir is open, without audition, to all men throughout the Kansas City Metro area who enjoy singing. Its membership includes singers from Wellington (Missouri) to Overland Park (Kansas) and from Pleasant Hill to Liberty in Missouri. The singers range in age from 18 to 85 and come from a variety of vocations and musical experience. The group rehearses on Sunday afternoons for six weeks and presents five concerts during the fall and spring seasons. The singers pay all of their expenses to allow all proceeds of their concerts go to those in need.
The KCMMC truly lives up to its mission and is an inspiration to the recipients of the gifts, the audiences, and to the singers themselves.
