Director’s Comment:
January 2008
What a terrific
season we had together. You, as a choir, sang
better than ever and we were able to try some new music
and work on a benefit event together. The season
was a long and busy one, but one that I hope each of you
enjoyed as much as I did.
The spring concert
schedule is included in this web site, and may be a bit
longer than some of you may have anticipated. But,
we encourage you to sing as many of these concerts as
you can.
For those of us
making summer plans, there will be no KCMMC performances
scheduled. It is always a challenge to find
sponsoring churches, and this is the summer for my men’s
choir sabbatical.
We had a couple of
concerts this fall that had great performances and few
listeners. The board has addressed the problems,
and our goal is to schedule concerts with larger
audiences. Please know that this is sometimes out
of our control, but we are aware of the problem, and we
are going to be more vigilant in guaranteeing a larger
audience for our concerts.
This coming fall we are
planning:
-
A recording
session that will produce a CD of mainly
Christmas music.
-
A possible
tour to St. Louis to sing a couple of
performances and do a combined concert
with the men’s chorus from Champaign,
Illinois.
-
Our regular
slate of concerts in November and
December.
- To
reach the $100,000 mark in assisting our
sponsoring organizations in helping
those in need

Finally, our thanks to
Dennis Fuhrman and Thrivent Financials for “yoking” with
us in sponsoring the Habit for Humanity benefit that we
held in October.
The KCMMC is a great
way for God to use our talents in behalf of others.
I’m glad to be a part of it. I know that you are
too. See you at our 2008 rehearsals in January and
February.
