President’s Corner:
Spring 2010
A new year is upon
us. It is amazing to me how fast the time passes.
Some of you still do New Year’s resolutions, I’m one of
those who have the same one from year to year, and that
is to be the best I can be and to glorify my Creator to
the best of my ability. Easier said than done, I
know.
With the coming of
this year, I have assumed the role as your President,
Dennis Fuhrman is your new Vice President, and Dick
Beissenherz has accepted the role as Secretary. I
want to extend my heartfelt thanks to Harold as past
President, Noel for putting up with us, and all who make
it possible for us to do what we do. I look
forward to continuing my association with all of you.
As the mantle of
responsibility has passed from Harold to myself as your
President, I can only say that I continue to be humbled
to be associated with such a group of men as yourselves.
Your dedication and commitment to our cause has reached
into the lives of many people, including my own.
To date, we have raised $128,000 plus for the use of
local charities. That is no small task and each
one of you deserves to be recognized and applauded for
this.
For what no one
person can do, collectively we have made a difference.
If anyone has a question concerning our finances,
contributions, or other money matters, please see Ken
Schnell.
At our last board
meeting, we discussed the idea of a membership
committee. It is my desire that this be
accomplished and so I am asking for two members of the
chorus along with one board member facilitating as
chair. Anyone interested in serving in this manner
please contact Dennis or myself.
Also, there are
some who go above and beyond to further our ministry in
becoming a patron. Anyone interested in joining in
that, please see Cliff Jones.
Lastly, I feel
that there are exciting things waiting for us in this
New Year. We can go as far as we want to go.
It is my privilege
to be a member of this chorus.
May the Creator of
all, continue to bless each one is my prayer for all of
you.
Let music live. Peace.
Jim Parcel, President
